How we use cookies

A cookie is a named value – a single piece of information – which we ask your web browser to hold for us.  If you allow your browser to accept cookies, the name and value will be sent back to us whenever you visit a page.  Cookies allow websites to respond to you as an individual.  The website can tailor its operations to you.

We use cookies to allow you to buy from us.  Simply put – when you add an item to your shopping basket it stays there and doesn't disappear or go to someone else's basket.

We use the Google Analytics system to examine our websites traffic. Google will register some cookies with your browser.  Google Analytics provides us with aggregated statistics of how our website is used.  It is not possible for us to identify individuals from the data Google provides.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

What cookies can you get by using our site?

Our Own Cookie

Our cookie will be called something like PHPSESSID and will contain a big random number.  You don't need to clear it because it is a temporary cookie and will become invalid after a short time and will be deleted when you close your browser.  If you block or delete this cookie you will no longer be able to buy goods from us online.

Our Hosting Company's Cookie

Our systems are hosted on a group of computers to make them more reliable.  They are a "load-balancing cluster" and the system uses a cookie as part of its operations, the cookie is called DYNSRV and will contain the name of the server that is working for you.  This cookie is necessary for the operation of our website.

Zopim Cookies

These cookies are managed by ZopIM, who provide the technology behind our 'live chat' system. The __zlcmid cookie allows you to continue a chat with us as you view different pages on our site, or if you come back to the site later. If you choose to disable this service from the live chat window's options menu or the 'ON'/'OFF' switch above, the __zlcprivacy cookie is set to remember that decision and the __zlcmid cookie is deleted.

Google Analytics Cookies

At the time of writing Google set these cookies – __utma, __utmb, __utmc, __utmv, __utmt and __utmz they are set just for "psclothing.co.uk" but Google sets them and the names may change.  If you don't delete them they will hang around for up to two years.  If you are concerned, clear you cache or block them – your ability to buy from us will not be affected.

Third party cookies seen while visiting psclothing.co.uk

In addition, we have noticed that if you use the Facebook "Like" buttons on our site you will get a multitude of cookies from Facebook.  Unlike our cookies and Google Analytics these cookies will be set by "facebook.com"  Furthermore, at the time of writing, Facebook seem to be adding a couple of cookies from "doubleclick.net" which is a Google owned advertising system.  If you don't want to link our products to Facebook then by all means block them.  We wouldn't blame you if you did.
